FBIE-SIG encourages its members to join one of the four committees that are set up to achieve the SIG's mission -- to advocate for policy and regulation changes to remove obstacles for current and future foreign-born international education professionals, to serve and support foreign born international educators' professional entry and development, and to promote foreign-born standpoints and perspectives to enrich NAFSA programs and services.

Advocacy & Member Survey Committee
Advocacy & Member Survey Committee will work with FBIE-SIG Advocacy Chair and Survey Chair to develop and implement membership surveys (i.e. needs identification survey) and publish an annual report. In addition, as member surveys identify key FBIE-related highlights and/or issues, the committee will carry out the advocacy effort to NAFSA leadership.

Member Outreach Committee
Member Outreach Committee will work with FBIE-SIG Member Outreach Chair and Local Arrangement Chair to recruit new members and organize social events during a NAFSA National Conference. By doing so, the committee establishes a model in rolling out similar (smaller scale) outreach and social programming efforts at regional/state/district levels by its committee members.

Mentoring Program Committee
This committee will work with FBIE-SIG Mentoring Program Chair to design, promote, and facilitate FBIE Mentoring Program at the national conference during the Open SIG meeting. The committee is responsible for communicating in advance with NAFSA National Conference Mentoring Program Coordinator and position the FBIE-SIG Mentoring program as an additional benefit for FBIE NAFSAns.

Program Committee
This committee will work with FBIE-SIG Program Chair to generate program ideas and solicit session proposals for NAFSA regional and national conferences. Committee members are encouraged to organize and facilitate FBIE-SIG open meetings at their respective regional conference. Program ideas are generated and prioritized at the national conference Open meeting by the SIG members.

Publicity & Communications Committee
The Publicity & Communications Committee will work with FBIE-SIG IT Manager, Membership Records, and Secretary, and to develop an overall promotional strategy for the SIG. This committee also will develop newsletter, pamphlets or booklets to be disseminated via print and electronic media.
