Term for all positions: July 1 to June 30 of the following year

SIG COORDINATOR [
Nomination Application]

For 2004-2005 term only: The SIG Coordinator election will be conducted among FBIE-SIG Design Team members before the national conference.

The SIG Coordinator oversees all FBIE-SIG officers and coordinate their activities to support and advocate for the professional advancement of FBIEs. SIG Coordinator attends NAFSA SIG Leadership meeting at the national conference. Coordinator runs the FBIE-SIG Leadership meeting (Monday) and Open SIG meetings (Tuesday) with Coordinator-elect at the national conference. SIG Coordinator collects officer application and appoints officers after the National conference but before June 30, 2004. SIG Coordinator submits an annual SIG report to NAFSA Membership Coordinator in February.

Terms beyond 2005: SIG Coordinator-elect succeeds as SIG Coordinator on July 1.

Also, the Coordinator will conduct a Coordinator-elect-elect election among general FBIE-SIG memberhip after the National conference but before June 30. SIG Coordinator submits an annual SIG report to NAFSA Membership Coordinator in February.

: The SIG Coordinator-elect election will be conducted among FBIE-SIG Design Team members before the national conference.

SIG Coordinator-elect assists SIG Coordinator in overseeing all FBIE-SIG officers and coordinating their activities to support and advocate for the professional advancement of FBIEs.The Coordinator-elect attends the SIG Leadership meeting at the national conference. SIG Coordinator-elect plans and coordinates all FBIE-SIG related meetings and social events.The Coordinator-elect runs the FBIE-SIG Leadership meeting (Monday) and Open SIG meetings (Tuesday) with SIG Coordinator at the national conference.

Terms beyond 2005: SIG Coordinator-elect-elect becomes SIG Coordinator-elect on July 1.

The Coordinator-elect attends the SIG Leadership meeting at the national conference. TREASURER [Nomination Application]
The treasurer is responsible for managing the assets of the SIG, maintaining appropriate financialrecords in accordance with the SIG bylaws, and preparing an annual budget and presenting it to the SIG members for approval.


ADVOCACY CHAIR [Nomination Application]
Advocacy Chair, along with Member Survey Chair, chairs the Advocacy & Member Survey Committee. As member surveys identify key FBIE-related highlights and/or issues, the Advoacy Chair strategizes and oversees the SIG's advocacy effort to NAFSA leadership. The Advocacy Chair oversees all of the above responsibilities and maintains frequent contact with FBIE-SIG Coordinator and Coordinator-Elect. The Chair is responsible for soliciting and making recommendations to the Coordinator of its successor. By application, and appointed by Coordinator.

 


LOCAL ARRANGEMENT CHAIR [Nomination Application]
As a part of Member Outreach Committee, this chair will schedule and arrange for local faciltities for all FBIE-SIG related social events at a NAFSA national conference. The Local Arrangement Chair oversees all these responsibilities and maintains frequent contact with FBIE-SIG Coordinator and Coordinator-Elect. The Chair is responsible for soliciting and making recommendations to the Coordinator of its successor. By application, and appointed by Coordinator.

 


IT MANAGER [Nomination Application]
IT Manager develops the web page and maintain the e-mail list up to date. Along with Secretary, IT Manager oversees the Newsletter/Publication Committee. The IT manager oversees all of the above responsibilities and maintains frequent contact with FBIE-SIG Coordinator and Coordinator-Elect. IT Manager is responsible for soliciting and making recommendations to the Coordinator of its successor. By application, and appointed by Coordinator.


MEMBER OUTREACH CHAIR [Nomination Application]
Member Outreach Chair, along with Local Arrangement Chair, coordinates recruiting efforts of new FBIE-SIG members at a national conference. The Chair also assist and provide guidance to FBIE-SIG members who coordinate similar outreach activities at regional, state, or district conferences. The Member Outreach Chair oversees all of the above responsibilities and maintains frequent contact with FBIE-SIG Coordinator and Coordinator-Elect. The Member Outreach is responsible for soliciting and making recommendations to the Coordinator of its successor. By application, and appointed by Coordinator.


MEMBERSHIP RECORDS [Nomination Application]
Membership Records keeps keeps member records on the master database and on the mailing list in sync. The update records get passed onto IT manager for synchronizing records on the web. Along with IT Manager and Secretary, Membership Records oversees the Newsletter/Publication Committee. The Membership Records oversees all of the above responsibilities and maintains frequent contact with FBIE-SIG Coordinator and Coordinator-Elect. The Membership Records is responsible for soliciting and making recommendations to the Coordinator of its successor. By application, and appointed by Coordinator.


MENTORING PROGRAM CHAIR [Nomination Application]
Mentoring Program Chair chairs the Mentoring Program Committee and facilitates Mentor Program at national conference during the Open SIG meeting. The Chair needs to build good rapport with National conference LAC/Mentor Program team in order to position FBIE Mentor program as a complimenting and not competing interest with the traditional Mentor/Mentee Session. The Chair oversees all of the above responsibilities and maintains frequent contact with FBIE-SIG Coordinator and Coordinator-Elect. Mentoring Program Chair is responsible for soliciting and making recommendations to the Coordinator its successor. By application, and appointed by Coordinator.


PROGRAM CHAIR [Nomination Application]
Program Chair oversees Program Committee and acts as a leader/trainer to regional FBIE members who facilitates FBIE-SIG open meetings at respective regional conferences. Also, the Chair solicits session proposals for regional and national conferences, and keeps track of session proposals submitted to the NAFSA regional and national conferences for web publication and SIG report. Program Chair oversees all of the above responsibilities and maintains frequent contact with FBIE-SIG Coordinator and Coordinator-Elect. The Chair is responsible for soliciting and making recommendations to the Coordinator its successor. By application, and appointed by Coordinator.


SECRETARY/NEWSLETTER [Nomination Application]
Secretary keeps meeting minutes, publishes newsletter and/or FBIE pamphlets and booklets, and keeps member records. Along with IT Manager, Secretary oversees the Newsletter/Publication Committee. The secretary oversees all of the above responsibilities and maintains frequent contact with FBIE-SIG Coordinator and Coordinator-Elect. The secretary is responsible for soliciting and making recommendations to the Coordinator of its successor. By application, and appointed by Coordinator.


SURVEY CHAIR [Nomination Application]
Survey Chair, along with Advocacy Chair, chairs the Advocacy & Member Survey Committee and oversees the development and implementation of membership survey (i.e. needs identification survey) among FBIE-SIG members. The Survey Chair oversees all of the above responsibilities and maintains frequent contact with FBIE-SIG Coordinator and Coordinator-Elect. The Chair is responsible for soliciting and making recommendations to the Coordinator of its successor. By application, and appointed by Coordinator.
